This is the largest group of game developers I’ve seen in Chicago! This group is focused on indie game development, and includes folks of all disciplines (programming, art, sound, design, etc.). Discussion happens in Discord, and notably, there’s an active #collaboration channel, if you’re looking for collaborators!

Night City is a local game studio with a particular care for connection to the community around it. They provide physical space for indie devs to showcase their work and meet each other – you can check out their events here.

Bit Bash is a group that puts on events centered on games and interactive art throughout Chicago. They don’t do many events throughout the year, but they events they do put on are high quality (so I’ve heard!).
