We passed by so much squash the last time we went to the Logan Square Farmers’ Market! The time has come for us to let tomatoes go and embrace squash.

We’re excited to make a menu that highlights squash in its many forms – omnivore and vegetarian dishes will be provided. Please let us know of any dietary requirements at least a week in advance.

I dream of squash

We spotted this dog who was very good at her job at the farmers’ market.

“What can I bring?”

Great question! We don’t expect folks to bring anything, really! For our friends who love to cook, bake, or make drinks, please feel free to bring any of the following to this meal:

For cooks Small hors d'oeuvres that can be served at the start of the night as folks come in would be great. Bring whatever you want, but flavors like maple, thyme, and brown butter would mesh well with dinner.

For bakers Any dessert or bread that utilizes seasonal fall produce would be lovely.

For bartenders A batched cocktail is always a crowd pleaser, and we also love N/A drinks! Flavors that’d go particularly well with the dinner we have planned include: thyme, brown butter, brown sugar, and chili.

What is the JV Supper Club?

While looking for supper clubs in Chicago in 2022, we found that many supper clubs ended during the pandemic. So as hobbyist home cooks and bakers, we (Jason and Vesha) decided to host our own!

JV Supper Club is all about nurturing connections between our friends and acquaintances across Chicagoland. We are aiming to host a dinner during every even month throughout the year, with each dinner having a up to 6 guests, all people we know and care about!

Our dinners are loosely based around a theme; and we’ll share out the menu and theme beforehand.

We hope we get make dinner for you soon!
